AI Budget Guardrail Builder
Turn a monthly AI budget into concrete alert thresholds, a forecast-based early warning rule, and an escalation ladder with named roles.
Get started-
Every threshold gets a stated dollar amount and a one-sentence rationale — never a bare, unexplained percentage.
-
Includes a forecast-based early warning rule, which catches a runaway trajectory early in the month that a simple percentage trigger would miss until it's too late.
-
If you're signed in with a connected AI provider, this pre-fills your suggested budget and breakdown from last month's actual spend instead of starting blank.
Frequently asked questions
This tool is powered by Claude (Anthropic).
Partly. The monthly budget this tool computes can be entered directly into Alerts Settings, where it drives a real, live forecast-breach detector. The warning/critical/breach thresholds and the named-role escalation ladder are still yours to configure by hand — Alerts doesn't yet have a place to store a custom threshold or notification ladder, so this tool describes those instead of pretending to create them.
A pure percentage trigger only fires once you've already spent past it — by definition, after the fact. A forecast rule extrapolates your spend trend early in the month and can warn you well before a percentage threshold would, while there's still time to act.
No. Answer the questions, get your document, and download or copy it. An email address is required to generate the file and enforce a fair-use daily limit; no account is created. Signing in with a connected AI provider additionally pre-fills the budget and breakdown from your real spend.
